Carlos Gil

Carlos Gil (1952-) was born in San Juan of Puerto Rico, son of Ramon Gil Jimenez and Angelina Ayala, both owners and operators of the funeral home of his city, Bayamon, about fifteen miles south of San Juan. One of his earliest memories is seen walking at night to the room of his parents guided by the faint blue neon light framing the dead box announcing the bussines. He married Irma Rivera and studied their doctorates in pure philosophy in Europe. Returning to his country, they worked in province for some years and in the mid-80 start as teachers at the University of Puerto Rico (Rio Piedras Campus) until today. They have two children, Zaitay and Carlos. He has published El orden del tiempo (Postdata, 1991); Polifonía salvaje (Postdata 1996, co-published with Irma Rivera); El cerco de la metáfora (Postdata 2001); Los antiguos en el Caribe (Chief editor); La ley de salud mental de Puerto Rico (Postdata, 2010); La persona de edad avanzada en el ordenamiento jurídico (Postdata, 2014) and more than 50 essays on philosophy and philosophy of law in various magazines. He is editor of magazines of Lawyers Bar Association of Puerto Rico.
