Carol E. Yorke

Carol E Yorke was born in Albany, Georgia, USA and lived the nomadic childhood of an Army brat, living in various states and overseas , ultimately landing in Southern California when her soldier father retired in 1961. She now lives in Stockton, California, with Lulu, her pet Dachshund mix chiweenie. In her full life, she spent 25 years working as a CPA in a variety of public accounting roles, was married 3 times and toured West Germany in 1975 with a 4-piece band called ‘Hogwood’. Carol also rode her own BMW motorcycle for over 15 years

But in early 2009 Carol’s busy life suddenly made a sudden reversal when she suffered a debilitating stroke. Since that day, she has devoted much of her time to supporting other stroke survivors and in April 2015 published her first book, Brain Attack: Surviving a Stroke.

In 2020, her second book, "Dear Folks: A Soldier's Letters Home 1941 to 1961," was released.

Carol has also produced several adult coloring books which people find to be to be very therapeutic and a motivational coloring book for pre-teen girls "My favorite composition to date, she says. Carol sees the glass overflowing no matter what her circumstances and she loves sharing her optimism with others to enrich their lives. " whether they like it or not," she teases.

When she isn’t writing, Carol enjoys spending time with friends and family. She hopes that she will one day be able to walk again and live in real house with a special man in her life.
