Ralph W. Jarvis

Ralph Jarvis is pictured above (center wearing a blazer) with faculty, graduate and undergraduate students when he was invited to speak at Texas Tech University's Rawls School of Business leadership class. His last Sustainability book is used as a text book for graduate and undergraduates leadership classes.

He has over 35 years of Business Transformation and IT expertise. In 2008, he founded Jarvis Business Solutions, LLC, it is a Business Transformation consultancy based on Sustainability that is driven by Quality methodologies.

Sustainability: In 2008, after taking early retirement from EDS, he founded Jarvis Business Solutions, LLC, that is a Business Transformation consultancy based on Sustainability, based on underpinnings: Strategic Planning, Enterprise Transformation, Quality methodologies and Analytics.

Currently, Ralph is on Econautics Sustainability Institute's Board of Directors. The institute's purpose, to benefit the general public by bringing about Sustainability in the private sector, is fulfilled through research, education, and advising on all aspects of sustainable business.

He is also currently serving on the Advisory Board of The DFW Innovation Center, where he leads the Sustainability Forum. This Forum is created for educational needs to present Innovators, shared values and awareness of how Sustainability truly demonstrates tangible business value.

Major corporations: He has been on 16 enterprise transformation engagements, worked with 21 industries and a variety of governments. From a business perspective, he has a proven track record in strategic planning, operations planning, asset management improvement and risk management. He has cross-functional expertise in international finance / operations, import / export, new product development & launch, business development, manufacturing and global operations.

From IT perspective: His expertise is based on transforming medium to Fortune 50 clients with varied global and IT complexities. At EDS, his roles included change management, technology and information management. He was accountable for project management for IT projects over $10 M. He led a team to convert a $1B semi-conductor business by using IT MIS concepts and state-of-the-art technologies that leveraged strategic market advantages.

Enterprise Transformation examples: He has been on 16 transformation engagements and work with 21 industries. Major engagements with Fortune 500 engagements include: American Airlines, Bankers Trust, Coors, Inc, Kentucky Fried Chicken, General Motors, Maxtor, Inc, Mobil Oil Corporation, PG&E, Rolls Royce, Tricon and Xerox. Client facing responsibilities include work with other major consultancies (e.g., Accenture, AT Kearney, IBM, KPMG, PwC).

Education: Ralph holds three degrees: His first is a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in Business Management from Texas Tech University.

He earned his first MBA in International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is also the first alum to receive both a Masters and the first Executive Certificate in Global Corporate Social Responsibility.

His second Masters of Management is in Management Information Systems from the University of Dallas. He was the sole MIS graduate acknowledged with Highest Honors. He was also inducted into the National Honorary Management Fraternity for his academic achievement.

Adjunct Professor and Graduate Instructor: He has experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. As an Adjunct Professor at North Lake College he taught Information Technology classes. At the University of Dallas, he was a Graduate Instructor teaching Sustainability classes.

Speaking Engagements: He has been a guest speaker to local professional organizations (e.g., APICS North Texas Chapter, ASQ - DFW Chapter, PMI - DFW Chapter). He has recently been asked to speak to the East Africa Chamber of Commerce regarding Sustainability.

Published Books: As a management consultant, he knows that company Owners and Executives are constantly searching for better ways to do business. He believes Sustainability will be a key centerpiece in every prudent 21st century Business Strategy. Here are his first two books:

In 2011, Ralph published his first book, "Any Questions?", which is a leadership primer to addresses the union of Sustainability and Quality management to optimize profitability, increase performance, reduce waste that builds a competitive culture.

In 2013, he published his second Sustainability book, "Building a Bridge to Benefits". This book provides a step-by-step approach, from Vision to Waste to Tangible Benefits, in molding an organization into a Sustainable Developed enterprise. Building a Bridge to Benefits is a top-down approach to transform a corporation into a Sustainable Developed enterprise. The book was used at the Texas Tech University - Rawl's School of Business.

He is now working on his third Sustainability book that will be published in 2015.
