Mark Bowles

Dr. Bowles is a Professor of History at American Public University System and a former NASA historian.

His most recent book is Ready Player Earn: The Blockchain Gaming Revolution. This is the first book to analyze the history of "play-to-earn" gaming and debate its future.

He is the author of over 20 books, including college textbooks on the history of science, United States history, and digital literacy. He has also written several critically acclaimed books about NASA, including The Apollo of Aeronautics (2010) and Science in Flux (2006). Both won the prestigious American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics award for best historical manuscript in their respective publication years.

He also co-authored a book with Katie Spotz. It is entitled: Just Keep Rowing: Lessons from the Atlantic by the Youngest Person to Row it Alone.

Dr. Bowles earned his Ph.D. in history from Case Western Reserve University and was a Tomash Fellow at the University of Minnesota. He has also earned an M.B.A., an M.A. in history, and a B.A. in psychology.
