Sue Trace Lawrence

Sue Trace Lawrence is a psychology professor and early childhood educator. Primarily interested in the topic of sibling loss, she has researched and written on this topic while working with students from preschool through college. Her educational background includes degrees in psychology and education, with additional concentration in biology, sociology, philosophy, and neuropsychology; in the past she has published research on persecution and learned helplessness. She is an avid fan of rock music, and her interest is often incorporated into the stories she relates to her psychology students. She loves spending time with her three grown children, as well as her zoo of 3 rats, 4 cats, and a dog. Trips to the New Jersey beach, scary movies, books about medicine, musicians, and animals, and hockey games provide some fun now and then. Most of her work is dedicated to the memory of her two brothers, Tim and Rob Trace.
