Dorit Linke

The youth novel "So leicht kommen wir nicht davon" by Dorit Linke was selected by Deutschlandfunk in October 2026 as one of the "Top 7 Books for Young Readers." This book follows up on the successful title "Jenseits der blauen Grenze" and tells the story of Hanna's arrival in the West and the lingering echo of the GDR, with great relevance for our present. "Jenseits der blauen Grenze" is required reading in schools and has been published in translation in the USA and Russia. In the USA, "Beyond the Blue Border" was chosen in 2025 as one of the 100 best books of the century so far in the "Young Adult" category – by Kirkus Review, the US literary review magazine founded in 1933.

In addition to writing books, Dorit Linke is involved in literary education and promoting reading, writes plays, and offers writing workshops in schools. In 2023, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her work in political education.
