Sarah Brooks

Sarah Brooks is a designer, writer, and systems thinker working at the intersection of design and futures. She is currently a Director of Human Interface Design at Apple. Formerly the first Chief Design Officer at a U.S. federal agency, she served in the Obama/Biden Administration as a Presidential Innovation Fellow and co-founded the Veterans Experience Office at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her work spans sustainable food systems, public health, and civic innovation. Sarah led the Design for Social Impact practice at Hot Studio, working with mission-driven organizations like Code for America, Mozilla Foundation, Skoll, and SOCAP. Her writing and thought leadership have appeared in dmi:review, Strategic Design Thinking, Leap Dialogues, and outlets including The New York Times, Fast Company, and Adobe XD Ideas. She is currently at work on a narrative nonfiction novel.
