I have spent many hours writing well over a thousand pages, striving to make my published work of value to you. I hope you find it to be interesting, useful, and much more. I spent a good part of my life with many of you in the mountains, on the cliffs, at various conferences, teaching, hiking, climbing, rescuing, and doing specialized work on the cliffs, towers, rivers, and . . .

One thing you find different about my publications is they are "principle based." Principles are the foundation of what we do and why we do it. Techniques change depend on the principle we are using them with. Techniques, ways, means, and methods change, depending on the circumstances.
