Ron Bruner

Ron Bruner (DMin, Abilene Christian University) is the Director of Doctor of Ministry Research at Abilene Christian University, where he teaches graduate and doctoral courses. He has served as the executive director of a nonprofit serving at-risk youth, a Bible class teacher, a deacon, and a youth and family minister.

In 2017, Leafwood Press released Owning Faith: Reimagining the Role of Church and Family in the Spiritual Journey of Teenagers, which Bruner co-edited with Dr. Dudley Chancey. That book is a road map for parents and other adults who want to walk alongside youth on their spiritual journey.

In 2015, Bruner co-edited Along the Way: Conversations about Children and Faith with Dr. Dana Kennamer (published by Abilene Christian University Press). Receiving positive scholarly and parental reviews, this work has proven helpful to parents, grandparents, and children's ministry professionals.

Since 2015, Bruner has edited the peer-reviewed e-journal Discernment: Theology and the Practice of Ministry. He and his wife, Ann, enjoy their three adult children and six grandchildren.
