B. Jay Cooper

This is B. Jay's first book, done in collaboration with his wife, Chris Black, a free-lance author.

During his career, B.Jay served as Deputy White House Press Secretary and Deputy Assistant to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush; public affairs director at the U.S. Department of Commerce, under Secretary Malcolm Baldrige; communications director at the Republican National Committee for five chairman, from Lee Atwater to Haley Barbour; public affairs director at Yale University; as a consultant for 20 years at APCO Worldwide in Washington, D.C., where he also served as deputy managing director of the DC office; and as a reporter and editor at the Waterbury (Conn.) Republican-American newspapers.

He has three daughters and six grandchildren and holds a BA degree in Journalism from Northeastern University. He is now retired and lives with Chris in Marion, Mass., and serves on the Board of Trustees at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.
