Kathryn McDaniel

Kathryn McDaniel is McCoy Professor of History at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Specializing in British History, she is particularly interested in journeys and journeyers to places unknown. After beginning her studies with early British travel literature, she has since made forays into pedagogy (a source of many strange travels) and the scholarship of fantasy literature. She holds degrees in history from Davidson College (B.A.) and Vanderbilt University (M.A., Ph.D.). She resides with her family in a small college town in southeast Ohio, where the brick-lined streets, flowering trees, and friendly neighbors evoke their own distinctive magic.
