David Khalaf

David Khalaf was born in Southern California where he studied print journalism at the University of Southern California, followed by a degree in creative writing. All of which is to say, he has been a waiter longer than he cares to remember.

David wrote his first full novel, a futuristic social satire, right out of college. The draft is still buried in a basement somewhere. The Sixteen Burdens series combines David's love of fantasy and his interest in Los Angeles history, especially during the Golden Age of film when people used slang like "ackamarackus," "nerts!," and "get a wiggle on."

After a stint in Portland, Oregon, he now lives with his husband and dog in Paris, France. His French is terrible.
