Born near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joyce Kopp has migrated westward and southward. Currently a member of The Woodlands Writers Guild in Texas, she is learning about writing short stories and working on a novella. However, her first love as a teenager was poetry, enticed by the irony and the imagery told in so few lines of Percy Bysshe Shelley's "Ozymandias," as well as the imagery of Robert Frost and William Carlos Williams.
In October 2013, she had her first short story published in "Affaire de Coeur" magazine. In 2014, two short stories appeared in "Aspiring Writers 2014 Winners Anthology; in 2015, one in "A Quick Read." In January 2014, she had her first poem, "In deference to negligence," published in "Northern Liberties Review." She is honored to have published in 2015, "Uninvited," in the cancer poetry anthology "Candles of Hope," GWL Publishing, UK.
In 2015, Ms. Kopp's short story "The Midas Touch," appeared in a suspense anthology, published by HWG Press. In 2016, the anthology "Tales of the Forest" by the Woodlands Writers Guild, one of her short stories and two poems are included. Also in 2016, "The Full Moon" in Romance Magazine vol. 04 no. 09. Look for "The Unforeseen" in the WWG's 2017 "The Flood" anthology.
