Marcus N. Tanner

Dr. Marcus N. Tanner is an author, speaker, therapist, and educator with a passion for helping people find hope in the hardest seasons of life. He is the co-founder of HealingChoice, a counseling and training center that serves individuals, couples, and families navigating betrayal, trauma, grief, and life transitions. Drawing on years of pastoral ministry and clinical experience, Marcus writes with honesty and compassion about pain, faith, and the God who stays.

He has also published widely in academic and professional contexts, including research on the forced termination of clergy and its effects on pastors and their families. In addition to Hope in Ashes, he is the author of Introduction to Integrative Studies (3rd ed.) and co-editor of Perspectives of Interdisciplinary and Integrative Studies.

Marcus and his wife, Dr. Michelle Tanner, live in Texas, where they lead workshops, retreats, and therapy intensives designed to strengthen relationships and restore hope.
