J.D. Carr

J.D. Carr, the pen name used by Duncan Carr Mackintosh, was chosen by the author for its brevity and in recognition of his great uncle born in 1860. Joseph Durfee Carr was born amongst a group of cousins who included the infamous Lizzie Borden, "who took an ax", and B.M.C. Durfee, who built the "Fall River Line," the first commercial steamboat line in America. The lives of the cousins are blended into a tale Duncan is presently working on. The second volume of the MacBean Chronicles, "Hardy's Choice", is scheduled for release in 2016. Duncan believes that the art of storytelling should be linked with historical fact, carrying the reader to distant places in times both historical and imagined.

Duncan and Annie Mackintosh currently reside in the hills of New England.
