Philip Cooper

Philip is half Greek on his mother’s side and was born and educated in the United Kingdom. He spent most of his life as an investment banker, based in London, Athens and New York. He left the bank in 1999 returning to London to work at the Ministry of Defence.

In 2012 he commenced his writing career and to date has written several short stories, an erotic war romance titled Remembering Jounieh, a science fiction story titled The Old Woman of Mani, a poetry anthology titled If I Could Paint Your Picture and a children's short story titled Sparky the Baby Green Dragon.

He has also had published through a New York publishing house Business Expert Press, two non-fiction books, Mastering Options and Competing in the Financial Markets both on value investing in currencies and options.

His first novel is a fast-paced political thriller titled Rape of the Aegean. This novel set in Greece pulls on historical facts to weave an exciting suspense story about a government conspiracy which endangers the European Union. In this novel we are introduced to Alex Kalfas the hero and Greek prime minister.

The second novel in the Alex Kalfas series is titled Smokescreen. This explosive page turner is based on North Macedonia’s claims to the resources of the Macedonian region of Greece. Alex’s ex-lover Gitta returns as the CIA undercover agent who has infiltrated the inner sanctums of Xplore Industries who are threatening to acquire Macedonia’s mineral resources by force.

The third novel in the Alex Kalfas series is the page turner of all page turners, and is a hybrid science fiction and crime thriller based on the Greek mythological story of the golden triangle. Alex goes up against the biggest drug cartel in Europe which is being paid by a secret society, deep rooted within the American government, to keep a secret that if known could change history itself.

Philip's hobbies include movies, playing tennis, reading, travel Greece, flying single-engine planes, and quizzing.
