Mark L Lucker

I began writing poetry as a teen, each summer filling multiple spiral-bounds with musings while crisscrossing the Midwest in Greyhound Senicruisers. My high school evenings found me writing from atop a bar stool in the back of a small Denver donut shop I worked at - a dingy hangout frequented by professors, cops, and street people. I was never at a loss for companionship and inspiration.

I started out professional life as a radio disc jockey and now with a lot of fascinating detours along the way, I ended up as a high school English teacher with a curious array of side hustles.

I have written and officiated over eighty weddings. I can also celebrate a good funeral or wake when the need arises.

A freelance writer, I have written in a variety of mediums and situations, and currently maintain an essay blog, Chaotic Zen, ala Carte, and my poetry blog, 'Ponderable polemics, poetic.'

My work has been featured in a variety of locales, and I am a founding member of the online writing group known as Some Poets. You just never know when and where I will pop up next. In fact, I have three books scheduled to be released into the wild in 2025, so come back - or just stick around.
