My book “Cops Are People Too was written about accounts that have taken place over the thirty four years of service I had with the Amarillo Police Department. All the stories are true but I have added creative dialogue since I know how police officers act and talk at crime scenes. To prevent embarrassing some officers the names have been changed while others are true names. I began my career as a patrolman and promoted up the ranks to captain before I retired. Several of my friends have purchased my book in order to see if they are involved in some of the stories. The feed-back from sales is “ Hey I remember that incident. That sure brings back memories.”
