Alexis Joy

Alexis Joy is a member of the class of 2016 at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia. During her years at Greater Atlanta Christian, Alexis has been an active member of several organizations including Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, and Spartan Service League. Alexis has played basketball for five years, earning two Varsity letters.

Alexis has attended North Atlanta Church of Christ since she was 4. She has participated in multiple Serve Days painting apartments for women and their children who are in drug and alcohol recovery, cleaning up local parks and packing care packages for soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. On multiple occasions Alexis, working with her parents bible study group, helped serve dinner to seniors after Sunday evening vespers service at an assisted living center.

Alexis has a passion for serving others especially children. Working with both her school and her church Alexis has participated in over a dozen mission trips locally, nationally, and internationally. Alexis has served in Atlanta with the City of refuge, Atlanta Mission, Atlanta Inner-City ministries, and Seven Bridges. She has served in Nashville, New Orleans, and in Tuba City Arizona. Internationally, Alexis has served in Canada, Beijing, Panama, and Baja Mexico.

Alexis Joy has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and has taken part in many service projects with her troop. For her Silver Award Project she ran a school supply-drive for children served by the Community Assistance Center of Sandy Springs, Georgia, who couldn’t afford backpacks or supplies for school. She was able to send over 100 children back to school with all the supplies they needed and more.

Alexis is a Red Cross certified Lifeguard and works at a Neighborhood pool near her.
