I was born and raised Southern California and went to art school at Otis College of Art and Design. I’ve always loved drawing people and in 2002 I decided to write the website portrait-artist.org. It got a lot of visitors (for which I am very grateful!) and so a few years later I decided to write a companion book. That book has recently been made available on Amazon (along with a Kindle version) and I'm working on more books about art.

Currently, I am working as a fine artist. The majority of my art is portraiture and animal portraits in oils. I work in a little art studio (which I affectionately call “The Shabby Studio”) where I occasionally give lessons.
