Brook Silva-Braga

Brook Silva-Braga is a journalist and filmmaker whose work has aired on HBO, CBS, MTV, CNBC, and National Geographic. He was born and raised in Rhode Island and after Portsmouth High School studied journalism at New York University. On a trip to the Philippines to interview the boxer Manny Pacquiao, Brook met a group of long term backpackers and decided to join them, soon setting off on a yearlong trip. Brook shot video as he went and it became the backpacking documentary "A Map for Saturday." Other extended trips produced the films "One Day in Africa" and "The China Question." In 2012, Brook returned to his news roots, reporting shorter form projects for various outlets, then settling at The Washington Post to anchor their video content. More recently, he's been a freelance reporter for CBS while developing a non-fiction TV series. "The Marriage Test" is his first book.
