Ms. Pat Durham

Known for her grace, poise and kindness, Pat Durham is a coach, author, and public speaker who teaches children and adults in the areas of Business, Communications and Social Protocol in an effort to equip them with the knowledge and tools they need to stand out in their professional and personal lives. She founded Diversity Unlimited over 25 years ago, and her client list includes large corporations, small businesses and individuals. Fueling her work is her sincere desire to help people develop skills for confident living.

Having experienced a history of childhood abuse, she understands firsthand the impact that can be made when children, teens, and young adults, find someone who injects positivity into their lives.

She is an avid volunteer in her community and has served on the boards of many organizations, as well as serving on the Spring Independent School District Advisory Council as an advocate for vocational studies. She has a soft spot for women and children, and literacy in particular. After writing devotional and educational materials for her church’s women’s ministries and for children whom she has worked with both in school and in youth ministry, she was inspired to write her first full novel, Nyger’s Advent Journey followed by her second novel Nyger’s Lenten Journey. Both books are Biblically based children's devotionals with short stories that blend entertaining fictional characters with interesting pieces of TX History.

Having been deprived of being read to as a young child, and subsequently ridiculed when she learned to read on her own, she developed a heart for literacy, especially literacy that enriches the reader's life. Her children's books serve as conversation starters for parents and promote tradition and a deeper connection with Christ.

She was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Northwest Houston Business and Professional Women. Additional accolades include a Lamplighter’s Award from the American Business Women’s Association, being named Woman of Excellence by the Federation of Houston Professional Women, and being nominated for the title of Lutheran Woman of the Year.

Pat is a former model, has sung professionally, and has directed choirs in both Texas and Louisiana. She currently resides in Texas with her husband Buddy with whom she raised children who are avid readers who have gone on to receive college degrees and raise avid readers of their own, including one grandchild who is working full time while pursuing her Master's Degree.

Some of the non-profits she has worked with are Women Helping Women, Northwest Assistance Ministries Job Program, Dressing for Success, Montgomery County Women's Center and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also trained the staff for Coreluv International, a ministry that serves orphans around the world.
