Sergio Sedas, PhD, is an author, leadership advisor, educator, and former robotics entrepreneur whose work explores what becomes possible when people choose to take ownership of results.
His career began in robotics and artificial intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University’s Field Robotics Center, where his research included work on DANTE, a robot developed to explore Mount Erebus in Antarctica. He later founded technology companies that designed and implemented robotics and machine-vision systems for global manufacturing organizations.
Over time, Sergio became increasingly interested in a different kind of challenge: why capable people and organizations often struggle to accomplish what matters most—not because they lack talent or resources, but because ownership remains concentrated in too few hands.
For more than fifteen years, he has worked with executives, leadership teams, entrepreneurs, and graduate students to help them think beyond incremental improvement, declare what is possible, and mobilize people to make it happen. His leadership programs and speaking have reached more than 100,000 participants.
Sergio is the author of Don’t Delegate. Mobilize., a leadership book about creating the conditions in which people step forward, cross organizational boundaries, and choose to own the result. He is also the author of Intentional Possibility, which explores how possibility can change the way people see themselves, their circumstances, and what they are capable of creating.
He has taught graduate-level leadership and transformation courses at EGADE Business School and holds two master’s degrees and a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.
Sergio’s work is built around a simple conviction: leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about creating the conditions where people step forward, raise their hand, and choose to own the result.
