Amalia Hillmann is a color collector and massive bookworm. As a little girl, she learned to read because she wanted to know how to spell her name, and she began drawing in attempts to write it. She hasn't really stopped drawing since.
After four wonderful years studying art in a place where blue sky meets golden cornfields, Amalia earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design/Illustration from Concordia University, Nebraska. Now a resident of Silicon Valley and a full-time artist, she innovates through a variety of mediums for her creative endeavors, featuring uniquely layered techniques which mix pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, and cut-paper illustration. Her designs can be found on Amazon Handmade and Etsy. Most days, you can find her happily at work illuminating children's books - a cup of coffee by her side, a dab of paint on her nose, and great music wafting through her studio!
