Klaus Pohl

Klaus Pohl is Professor of Software Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Computer Science, paluno (The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. He obtained his doctorate and habilitation at RWTH Aachen University and has been honoured with awards including the IEEE Requirements Engineering Lifetime Service Award and the Fellow Award from the German Informatics Society (GI).

Among other things, Klaus was the founding scientific director of the Irish software engineering research centre LERO, founding member of IREB (Intl. Requirements Engineering Board) and programme/general chair of numerous leading international conferences on software and requirements engineering. Klaus is (co-)author of more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and several text books.

Since the early 1990s, requirements engineering has been one of his focal points in basic research, industrial application and technology transfer. As a consultant, advisor, and expert he supports national and international companies, research associations and research programs.
