Brittany Lawrence

Voorhees College graduate Brittany Lawrence found herself married and heading for divorce by the end of her college career. It was this life- altering event that caused her to write a book entitled: “Not Approved: Overcoming Obstacles and Facing Adversities,” where she recalls her struggles and lessons learned from the experience.

Lawrence’s book explains her college years at Voorhees as it relates to falling in love with her “college sweetheart,” getting married her sophomore year and then ultimately going through a divorce.

The purpose of Lawrence writing a “tell all” is to encourage young people, who are in college that are heading down the same road that she was, to wait on getting married and committing to a serious relationship. Instead students should be striving to complete college and focus on their career aspirations.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is currently studying her Masters Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Organizational Leadership at Ashford University. She achieved the rank of First Lieutenant and is a Quartermaster Logistics Officer with the S.C. Army National Guard.
