CJ Powers

CJ Powers was born and raised in the Chicagoland area by a school teacher and a cop. His family thought it was important for his education to see the country and traveled twice a year throughout the United States. In his adult years, CJ expanded his knowledge by traveling to 26 countries. His blog, cjpowersonline.com, continued his interactive education and international reach to 144 countries.

CJ's storytelling abilities were nurtured by his dad, who as a hobbyist, shot 16mm documentaries and family films. CJ gigged his first cinematography role for a CBS documentary at age 18 and directed the nightly news for an ABC affiliate station by age 25. He soon realized that his love for story overshadowed technology and changed his focus to writing and directing. He has written books, short stories, articles, blog posts and screenplays. Most of which takes advantage of his global observations and adventurous life.
