Curt Griggs

Curt Griggs has been a map collector since the mid-80s. It began when he discovered an antique map shop in Singapore and was immediately smitten with the history and artistic beauty of old maps. Before long Curt changed career and entered the map trade: first with the Compass Rose Gallery in Sedona, Arizona, and then with Old World Auctions. In addition to the book Collecting Old Maps, he operates the web site oldmaps.com which provides dealers, collectors, appraisers and institutions valuation history on the sale of antique maps, globe and atlases.

He and his wife live in the country outside of Sedona, Arizona, with two cats and an assortment of wild deer, coyotes, bob cats and other critters. When he isn't working, he is likely found hiking in the hills or puttering with his original 1953 Ford F100 pickup.
