Dan Mitchell

Born in the early nineteen-thirties and raised to adulthood in a rural neighborhood south of Chicago, Dan was sure to get his main education from outside of the classrooms.

The “three R’s” taught at St. Christina Grammar School and other fundamentals at St. Leo High School, along with avid reading habits, inherited from his parents, formed a foundation for his further education.

His innate curiosity of the world led to his continuous search for satisfactory answers and he would often quote, in his humorous way, “Ya can always learn stuff from other people, no matter how dumb they might seem to be. Just remember to keep an open mind."

Thus, with the acquired knowledge garnered from his readings, schoolings, friendships, travels and other studies, how better equipped to write an actual mystery novel? These factors along with the biographies of Hazelwood and its characters complete a list of required ingredients.

The opportunity to tell this story simply could not have been passed up! And so, with a good amount of divine inspiration, the author is able to weave stories of the community into a serious tale of mystery and suspense.
