Roger James

Roger James is an author along with being a brilliant visual artist. He's most noted for his dynamic portraiture oilpaintings. He has created vibrant, detailed illustrations for other authors including designing the bookcover for the adult-novel for author Andrea Blackstone "Schemin" and author Craig T. Thompson "The ABC's of Black History" & "The ABC's of Black Inventors". Mr. James wrote and illustrated Pecan's Spelling Bee Championship along with designing the entire book layout. "It was an undertaking that he felt he needed to do. I wanted to showcase my range as a artist so what better way to do that then literally writing, illustrating and designing your own book!" He felt if he is good enough to create for other authors that he is good enough to create his own books. The first Pecan book deals with spelling bee and a child's journey to be the best. This is one of first books of the Pecan series which he plans on eventually turning into a full-blown animated series.
