Jeffrey B Miley

Jeffrey B. Miley (1958–present) is best known for his cryptid fiction, particularly the Sasquatch Adventure series and the wildly popular Cryptid Classics series, which is rapidly outpacing his Sasquatch work in both readership and acclaim. His stories range from modern-day encounters to historical accounts, exploring legendary creatures through a lens that balances raw terror with unexpected depth and humanity.

Miley’s portrayals of Sasquatch vary widely, depicting the creature at times as violent and fearsome, and at others as surprisingly complex and even compassionate. His expanding cryptid universe extends beyond Sasquatch, drawing on classic and lesser-known legends alike.

He is also the author of the Shriek series, which blends Sasquatch lore with witchcraft and, eventually, the Devil himself. The series follows Senior Game Warden Jeremy Cain, a man seemingly unable to escape the strange and supernatural. Beyond cryptids, Miley has written a three-part werewolf series, a two-part zombie series, and the Full Blood Moon series, featuring a wide array of creatures that stalk the darkness. He has also penned several standalone horror novels that push the boundaries of suspense and terror.

In recognition of his contributions to cryptid and horror fiction, Jeffrey B. Miley was named Cryptid Quarterly’s Author of the Year for 2024.
