Thomas D. Carroll

I am Associate Professor (Teaching) in the School of Humanities and Social Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where I teach courses in philosophy, religious studies and interdisciplinary humanities.

I am also the author of Rethinking Philosophy of Religion with Wittgenstein: Religious Diversities and Racism (Bloomsbury, 2025), Wittgenstein within the Philosophy of Religion (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014) and various essays and articles concerning Wittgenstein, religion, and comparative philosophy. With Anne Blackburn, I prepared for publication John Clayton’s posthumous book Religions, Reasons, and Gods: Essays in Cross-Cultural Philosophy of Religion (Cambridge University Press, 2006).
