John Andrews has been a leading conservative voice for American renewal from his student days during the Vietnam War, to his recent work in establishing the Centennial Institute, to his latest book on what he calls “America’s backbone crisis.”
Since graduating from Principia College in 1966, he has founded or led five think tanks, held appointments from four presidents, worked at three colleges, served in two ministry organizations, and been a U.S. Navy submarine officer. He was president of the Colorado Senate and the Republican nominee for Governor of Colorado.
For years a Denver Post columnist, Andrews also originated Backbone Radio, TCI Cable News, the Head On TV debates, and the Western Conservative Summit. His books include Responsibility Reborn: A Citizen’s Guide to the Next American Century (2011) and Backbone Colorado USA: Dispatches from the Divide (2015).
John and Donna, his wife of 48 years, live in Denver near their three grown children and grandson Ian Michael, who they hope will become a Republican voter in 2020. John is an ordained Presbyterian elder and blogs at Ananias.org.
