Jeff Maehre

Jeff Maehre lives and writes in Battle Creek, Michigan.

His work has appeared in STORY, Cutbank, The Northwest Review, Pithead Chapel, Pleiades, and College Teaching. He earned an MFA from the University of California, Irvine.

He has worked as a cab driver, buyer of used blue jeans, writing instructor, librarian, and something he can't remember that invokes the smell of stale beer, a dented step-ladder...

Some of Maehre's favorite authors are J.D. Salinger, Albert Camus, Anton Chekhov, Richard Powers, Walker Percy, Charles Baxter.
