New author, Cristi Habermann was born in Nebraska, and raised in various cities around South Dakota. Having been an avid reader of all types of books throughout her life, she had a dream of writing a book. Getting an education, raising children, and developing a career took precedence over her dream. Life was pretty ordinary up until 2011. In 2011 her life was turned upside down after the unexpected death of her oldest son, Christopher. This event was a turning point in her writing. The emotions surrounding her son’s death, and the desire to help others provided the motivation to write of the unspeakable. Sharing the events, thoughts, and emotions with others helped Cristi’s own healing to begin. Her career since 2011 has focused on helping others with their grief, and to normalize the grief reactions of grieving mothers. Cristi's has become a Grief Life Coach, and has her own grief radio on Blog talk Radio podcast called the Grieving Insomniacs. In the future she hopes to have a call in radio for grieving mothers to call to share and support one another in their grief. In her spare time Cristi likes to spend time with her best friend, dog named Kia, and her grandchildren.
