Elaine Thomas

Elaine Thomas is on a mission to save stories that could otherwise be lost. She is inspired by the experiences that the genuine, unassuming residents of Fayette County, Texas, share with her. Their stories speak to Elaine’s inherent love and respect for country life and rural people, and remind her of friends and neighbors she knew growing up on a farm near Calgary, Alberta.

An award-winning non-fiction writer, Elaine's extensive collection of one-on-one interviews appear in her books such as Veterans' Voices and Home Front Memories, as well as the Stories I’ve Been Told series. These precious tales of lives simply lived reveal their devotion to family, community and faith, and reflect a deep appreciation for God’s green earth. Without Elaine’s admiring eye, however, these memories mirroring the capricious ups and downs of life might be lost forever.

“I’m on a mission to create a legacy of stories about rural and small-town Texas life so the contributions made by these people will not be forgotten,” Elaine says.
