Fredd Carroll

Fredd Carroll grew up in coastal Connecticut and now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the father of three children — Alyssa, Anthony, and Riley — who remain his biggest inspiration and his toughest critics.

Fredd's writing journey began in his teenage years, penning lyrics and playing bass guitar in the New Haven heavy metal scene before a lifelong love of storytelling pulled him toward screenwriting. Raised on 80s film — John Hughes, Cameron Crowe, and Spielberg chief among his influences — he still writes screenplays today and hopes to one day see his work on screen.

He is the author of Emilee Anonymous, a debut novella that earned praise for its honest, unflinching look at suicide and its lasting impact on the people left behind; Dead Flowers, a small-town Connecticut murder mystery woven through Union, CT and the Rivers family; and At the Edge of Evergreens, a fantasy romance about love, loss, and waiting for the ones we've lost on the other side.

His current project, The Adventures of Left Eye Lazy, is a middle grade series that draws on Fredd's own life to help young readers navigate real challenges — friendship, family, first crushes, illness, loss, and everything in between — with honesty and heart. He plans to continue the series through Left Eye's high school years in a forthcoming second series.

Fredd publishes under his own imprint, Left Eye Lazy Publishing, and continues to write for both page and screen.
