Joseph Laird MS, LPC (1966- present) is not just a writer, a counselor, a mentor, and father, but a man who experienced the life of alcohol, substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, and bad decisions only to be pulled out of the darkness. Joseph currently works as a mental health therapist who studies and learns about broken families, substance/alcohol abuse, behaviors of men, women, and children and the devastating effects of psychological, emotional, mental and physical abuse. He is honest and insightful and recognizes the need to write about the abuses and negative choices of mankind, in a way that it speaks to the readers. He uses congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathetic understanding to connects with his clients and readers. He currently works with individuals, family and community members in Flint MI, as a Program Director of the Phoenix Afterschool Program, that focuses on mentoring, tutoring and parenting enrichment sessions. He believes that strong individuals make strong families and strong families make strong communities. A portion of your funds will be used to assist Joseph with his community outreach in the city of Flint, Michigan. Thank you!
