Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Octavo. (xii), 120, (4)pp. Calon's risographs explore the possibility of a vibrant visual language based upon geometry. The resulting sheets include a table of contents and discernable letters and numbers alongside trigonometric abstractions. Together these call into question how we use and create language at all; Calon suggests here that language approximates a game of shapes. One can think of her work as, perhaps, a merging of Wittgenstein's theory of language with Mondrian's theory of expression and Albers's theory of color. Bound in a dropback cover of tan cloth over boards, with illustrated dust wrapper. Fine and surprisingly scarce. With prospectus laid in, also signed by the artist. One of 750 copies.
