Juliet Grable brings a background in natural history and ecology to her writing, which ranges from books and feature articles to personal essays and poetry. Juliet's writing currently focuses on green building, with a special interest on innovative and sustainable water systems. She served as managing editor for Green Builder Magazine until 2016, and her first book, Desert Rain House: Resilient Living, Sustainable Building in the High Desert, was published by Ecotone Publishing in 2015. This book follows the design and construction of a residential compound in Bend, Oregon, which was built to the rigorous standards of the Living Building Challenge. Juliet's second book for this series was published in May 2017. Brock Environmental Center for a Living Chesapeake chronicles the design and construction of the Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This groundbreaking regenerative building houses the education programs for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a non-profit focused on advocacy, restoration and hands-on environmental education within the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
