Jane Blue

Jane Blue was born in Berkeley, California. Her parents were Jane Eshleman Conant, a pioneering woman journalist at San Francisco daily newspapers for over 40 years, and Paul Conant, also a newspaperman and the author of three detective novels. She has a twin sister, Paula Conant. She wrote her first poem at eight years old, which was published in the Oakland Tribune. She has a Master's Degree in Creative writing from the University of California, Davis and has been publishing poems in journals for a long time as well as three other full-length books of poetry, The Madeleine Poems, Trill Press, 1980, Now That I Am in the Light I See, Konocti Books, 1996, and The Persistence of Vision, Poet's Corner Press, 2003. She has lived in Sacramento since 1979 and loves its rivers, trees and animal life, the variety of its populace, and especially loves words, and playing with them.
