Certain readers enjoy lengthy biographies.  Hopefully, everyone else won't fall asleep!

Monica was born and raised in Tampa as a fourth-generation Floridian. Some of the hobbies Monica enjoyed while growing include, competitive swimming, dance, piano, antique car (Edwardian vintage, which is pre-1915) touring. Additionally, Monica enjoyed close relations with extended family, including grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and family friends, all residing in nearby communities and sacrificing much to pour into her life.

Monica interned in Washington DC with Florida's U.S. Senator Lawton Chiles while attending Furman University. Monica graduated from Furman and toiled in Florida's legislative process as an assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for two years before enrolling in law school.

Monica gleaned business and legal skills practicing law and real estate development alongside her father in the Tampa Bay area for nine years before she was elected to serve as a circuit court judge in 2002.  She presided over thousands of cases involving family and child custody issues over five years until she joined a missionary outreach in the Middle East with Living Bread International Church.

Monica relocated to New England when she married her husband, Doug, in 2009. The couple currently live in New York City with their daughter.
