Nancy E. Sheppard is a nonfiction author, historian, and public speaker based out of Hampton Roads, Virginia. Her four books focus on various topics in the history of her native Tidewater, Virginia. She has been nominated three times for the Virginia Literary Award in the category of nonfiction and has served as the sponsor for the historical highway marker commemorating the disaster of the U.S. Army dirigible, ROMA (the subject of her first book).
Aside from her work as a historian, Ms. Sheppard has a background working in media, having served as Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, Yorktown Crier-Poquoson Post. Her writing and photography work has been featured in several publications, including the homepage for the U.S. Navy.
