Tim Helble worked as a hydrologist in the National Weather Service (NWS) for 27 years. For his first four years, he conducted river modeling and forecasting at the Colorado Basin River Forecast Center in Salt Lake City and the remainder of his career was spent in the Washington D.C. area, working on the Modernization of the NWS's hydrologic operations and services and developing operational policy. Before his NWS career, he held a half year seasonal position at Grand Canyon National Park, helping to develop a water resources plan for the Park.
