Suellen J. Bahleda
Suellen J. Bahleda, CI and CT, came to American Sign Language through community school evening classes and began her sign language career working as a teacher’s aide in a high school day program for deaf students in California. Across 20 years and several states, she became certified, worked as an interpreter, taught entry-level and advanced ASL and interpreting classes, and presented workshops. She is the author of Fingerspelling the Real World, published by Real World Press, and is the co-author of the Yellow Book series, Fingerspelling in American Sign Language, Numbering in American Sign Language and Multiple Meanings in American Sign Language, RID Press, with Brenda Cartwright. Sue holds a B.A. in Theatre and Communication Arts, an M.Ed in Adult Education, and an M.Div (Master of Divinity) degree. She currently serves as a pastor for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
