Shalla Art

Shalla Art is an artist who paints, draws caricatures and also creates pictures with words. As an award winning writer, Shalla's short stories have appeared in Poetic Diversity, the Mosaic Literary Journal, the Mad Hatters Review; her articles in The Scriptorium Newspaper and L.A. Freepress; her skits performed at the Stella Adler Theatre. A former writer and producer for a health and fitness television show, Shalla is currently writing a new novel. She also publishes SHALLA Magazine and Get Jazzy Talk Drity Magazine where she interviews literary agents, publishers, editors, artists and authors. Shalla Art's work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

As a Filipino-American Artist, Shalla is featured in the book, "Heaven Is Vegetarian: Art and Prints of Celebrities Who Are Alive and Vegetarian in Paradise". Surrealistic Realism is the vein of her most recent collection, paintings of famous people like Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, etc parodied, mostly in acrylic. Satirical and political embody her pieces which also swing to humorous caricature drawings.

Shalla acquired her training at the renowned Des Moines Art Center and continues to experiment with her craft. She has had solo shows at the Los Angeles Convention Center along with repeat exposures of her work for television shows as an Art Director for Buena Vision Television.

She is represented in the collection of the Collective Souls Art Gallery, Las Vegas, at Annie Creamcheese, Las Vegas and at Las Vegas Arts District including Jana's Redroom.
