I am a part-time marketing consultant and a mom of two who has devoted an inordinate amount of time, energy and resources into getting my children the best possible education at public, private, and parochial schools. I thought I’d done a great job...until the college application process. I was so confident that I was doing enough for my daughter - engaging a college counselor at her college prep high school, following exactly what the admissions officers at the campuses we toured told us to do and believing those who said my high-achieving child was destined for acceptance at their elite schools. But I was wrong, and her admission results were not what we expected or wanted - at first.

Then it became clear - when it comes to college admissions, there is a game within a game. There are unwritten rules that the experts WILL NOT tell you. I quickly managed to put a few of them to work, which (spoiler alert) got my daughter off the waitlist and into a top university.

Since then, I have devoted myself to uncovering many more secrets of college admissions, so I won't make the same mistakes with my second child. I want to share what I've learned, to help you successfully navigate the college application process and become the applicant that stands out from all the rest.
