Hank McGovern

Hank McGovern has practiced psychology in North Carolina and Delaware since 1983 when he earned his Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology. It is also relevant that Hank endured a traumatic childhood and was hospitalized in 1973 due to a severe depression with suicidal ideation. Hank has practiced meditation for 43 years, has run 10 marathons, including Boston, completed 28 triathlons, including an Ironman, and was an English Channel aspirant for 6 years. Hank fashions his life on his Stoic values and Buddhistic psychology and growing from adversity.

He states, "I live for my philosophy so my philosophy can help me live." His mission is to reduce suicide by promulgating a new, unique perspective about the meaning of suicidal ideation. Specifically, he posits that suicidal thoughts are gifts, as they are signals that something in one's life does need to die.
