Cheryl Mathis lives below sea level in that city nestled between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. New Orleans. The home of hoodoo and voodoo. And ghosts.
Her favorite things are family, friends, laughter, traveling, New Orleans cuisine, and nesting at home. And writing for middle grade. She lives around the corner from the lake, on the Eastbank of the New Orleans area, with her husband Bobby and black cat Walter. She has two sons who live one mile up and 1,300 miles away in Denver.
Cheryl is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and currently serves as the Regional Advisor for the Louisiana/Mississippi Region.
