Gerri Mungin was born in New York City in May, 1947 and raised in mid-town Manhattan in a wonderfully diverse neighborhood near what is now Lincoln Center.
Gerri developed a lifelong love of books, reading, and education. As a young teenager, her favorite place was the public library where one of the librarians took Gerri under her wing and feed her voracious appetite for books with suggestions the likes of Arms of Krupp, Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead.
In 2014, Gerri lost her husband and son, Ted and Lateef, within five weeks of each other and was catapulted from deep grief and loss toward a search for happiness.
Her first book is a memoir documenting the first year of a life lived without the most important men in her life and her quest to find out whether she can smile, laugh and find joy ever again. She is also a contributing author to a well received ebook Village Pearls - Sacred Practices to Nourish Your Soul.
She authors two blogs: I’m Retired—Now What and On a Journey and teaches yoga to seniors in Huntersville, North Carolina where she lives with her daughter.
